ABOUT OUR FOUNDER

THE LONG ROAD HOME

I didn’t set out to have a career in interior design.
Interior design found me.

My career began in fashion and later evolved into experiential marketing, where I built consumer experiences that were immersive, memorable, and measurable. Working for major magazine publishers and Fortune 500 brands, I ran large-scale programs and events, managed multi-million-dollar budgets, and led cross-functional teams to deliver both brand impact and business results.

A defining chapter came when I was head of experiential marketing for New York State, leading programs that promoted tourism across the state. I was asked to work the Governor’s project of a new Welcome Center being built on Long Island. Construction was underway, but the interiors needed help. I developed a design approach that would tell the story of Long Island through interactive exhibits, a historical showcase, video production, and even a “walk of fame” featuring famous locals. I worked closely with the architects to ensure the entire space felt cohesive, becoming intricately involved in the selection of every design element—from lighting to the flooring, finishes, furnishings, and materials. The Welcome Center was such a success that it led to the expansion of 10 more Welcome Centers across the state, each with its own design totelling the story of its region.

I loved every minute of it.

It was in that experience that I found my true calling, realizing I could bring the same passion I felt designing those spaces into helping people love where they live. Today, I create environments that make people feel comfortable and happy in their homes. And for me, the most rewarding part is watching someone light up when they walk into their finished space.

Those moments made the long road to interiors worthwhile.

 FAQs

We know starting a design project comes with lots of questions.
Let’s get a few of the common ones out of the way.

  • Absolutely. Whether it’s a living room, bedroom, or kitchen, we often work on single-room projects—always with the same level of thought and detail as a whole-home design.

  • We establish a budget before any work begins and stick to it until the project is complete. We help clients understand where to invest for the greatest impact and where to get creative to maximize value.

  • Timelines vary depending on the scope. A single room refresh may take a few months, while full-scale renovations can extend much longer. We set clear expectations up front and keep projects moving smoothly with regular updates.

  • Many clients come in unsure of their style. We guide them through discovery questions, visual references, and curated options until the direction feels right.

  • Lizete’s years in the corporate world sharpened her ability to juggle details, deadlines, and big-picture goals—skills she now applies to every design project. Clients often say they appreciate her keen eye, clear guidance, steady calm, and the way their homes end up feeling both beautiful and easy to live in.

  • Thoughtful design made for real life. A well-designed space is more than about how it looks. It’s about how it lives and how it makes you feel. We strive to create spaces that make you exhale the moment you enter. Homes that feel authentic, inviting, and lived in. Aesthetically, we love mixing vintage with contemporary, layering texture and color to energize or soften a room, and try to steer clear of anything too matchy-matchy.

  • Working with Lizete was nothing short of transformative for my home. I had a vague sense of what I liked but couldn’t piece it all together. Lizete had this remarkable intuition for understanding what I needed, even when I couldn’t articulate it myself. She translated my scattered ideas into a design that feels so personal to me.

She struck the perfect balance between style and practicality, ensuring every decision fit seamlessly with how we actually live in the space. Her ability to identify problem areas (that I didn’t even know I had) and propose creative solutions was eye-opening. What impressed me most was her talent for elevating the design in subtle yet impactful ways. She introduced ideas I wouldn’t have considered but now can’t imagine living without. I truly love my refreshed home!

  • I initially reached out to Lizete because I thought all I needed help with was picking a backsplash tile for my kitchen. But after our consultation, I realized I needed so much more. Lizete had an incredible vision for how my small kitchen could function better and feel more open. She immediately suggested ways to optimize storage, improve layout, reconfigure appliances, and make the most of the natural light.

Her design sense is impeccable. She has an amazing eye for color, texture, and finishes, and she approaches every selection with practicality, which I really appreciated. My kitchen now feels brighter, more spacious, and highly functional, exactly what I had hoped for.

Lizete was great to work with. She listened, was easy to talk to, and genuinely cared about getting everything right. I can’t wait to work with her again!
